Political satirist and stand-up comedian
(USAID- project coordinator for civil society and political projects)
“Talk will be focused on how political satire can be applied to social and political change in countries with transitional or challenged democracy. I will largely draw on successful experience of my co-authored political satire program in Armenia and how I was able to overcome step-by-step atmosphere of fear and physical threats that were posed by oligarchs, politicians and thugs resenting ironic criticism. Examples of how satire was able to teach tolerance in the society and self-restraint in politics will be presented”.
